23

Ten days ago I turned 23 years old. To me, I feel like twenty-three sounds so much older than twenty-two, but maybe that’s just me. It always feels so fun turning a different age because with age, comes more life, more lessons, and more everything. I feel as if I have learned so much in just my 23 years of life so far and I truly can’t wait to learn more.

It’s been quite some time since my last blog post, but what better way to welcome myself back than a good list of some wonderful things that I’ve learned as a fresh 23-year-old. So, with that being said, here are 23 things that I’ve learned in honor of my 23rd birthday. <3

  1. Stop saying “yes” to everything– it’s really not a big deal if you don’t go.

  2. Your intuition always knows better than your brain.

  3. You don’t need to have it all together. You are doing just fine, give it time, & keep going.

  4. You will fall in love again.

  5. Listen to your parents and your guardians. You have never been their age, but they have been yours.

  6. Your self love has to be stronger than your desire to be loved.

  7. Your life will be defined by how you handle uncertainty.

  8. When something isn’t for you, that means something else is.

  9. Not liking going out every weekend is a completely normal way to feel.

  10. You will outgrow people.

  11. Learn to be OK with people not liking you.

  12. What you think about, you bring about.

  13. Your life is as good as your mindset.

  14. Life may get dark, but light will always come.

  15. Spend time with yourself. There is nothing more powerful than having a strong understanding of yourself.

  16. Friends are always better in quality, not quantity.

  17. Failure and rejection is redirection for something much better and more aligned with you.

  18. You can never appreciate the highs without going through the lows.

  19. Time heals everything.

  20. Don’t ever be embarrassed of your situation. Half of the people you know are covering up theirs with filters and smiles.

  21. You are who you surround yourself with.

  22. Comparison is the thief of joy.

  23. You are exactly where you need to be.
