Fab Five

I have heard and read many great words, sayings, and quotes for as long as I can remember. There have been so many good ones, mind-altering ones, to where I’ve lost count. Within the last couple of years, I’ve truly been keeping my true favorites to heart. The “fab five” of my personal favorite quotes, sayings, you name it. I wanted to share them with you in hopes that at least one of them will get your brain thinking. So, without further adieu, here are my fab five:
1- “Be sweet to everyone you meet”- Courtesy to my mother embedding this saying into my brain ever since I first stepped foot onto school grounds at the start of my kindergarten year. I vividly remember getting out of the car every single day she’d take me to school saying this exact saying before I’d shut the car door to go to school. It truly is my number one favorite saying because it reminds me of my mom, and it also reminds me of how to treat each and every person I come across, a familiar friend or a new face. You never know what someone is going through, so being someone’s bright light in their day makes all the difference in my opinion.
2- “You are exactly where you need to be”- I’ve heard and read this saying a bunch of times, but this one has always stuck with me. For the past few years, I’ve been in such a rut of not knowing my path, not seeing a clear road ahead, and unsure about my timeline on things. I’ve grown mentally to be more accepting of myself and my journey in life. It is my first shot at life, as it is for everyone else. Everyone’s path is different no matter what. Not a single person on this earth is walking the same path as another, moving on the same timeline as another, literally no one. As of the last few months, I’ve grown to find peace in trusting myself when it comes to my life. To trust myself to grow through anything and everything that comes my way, and to not worry so much about this end result in life that could end up being totally different when that time comes.
3- “Grow through what you go through”- Thank you Pinterest for showing me this quote during the time of my first heartbreak. Lord only knew I needed to see it. I think that this quote is extremely powerful and can be super mind-altering when you really think about it. Whether it’s heartbreak, grief, letdown, sadness, you name it– you truly have to grow through what you are going through. Acknowledging your growth in times of such unhappiness is a beautiful thing. To look back at yourself and all of the growth you’ve done whether it’s mentally or physically is truly such an astounding thing we humans do.
4- “Find love in living”- The reasoning behind this blog and courtesy of my friend who is an amazing poet. When he first spoke these words, it was like a switch flipped in my brain. I feel as if this saying can also be interpreted in different ways, but I see it as finding love in the life that YOU are living. The one who’s living in your body. YOU know what makes you happy. YOU know what brings you joy. So why not find the joy, love, and excitement in living? Hence why I started my blog– because it makes ME happy, and the amount of love that I’ve felt from loved ones, friends, and even strangers about my blog makes it all the better.
5- “Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him and He will make straight your paths.”- Proverbs 3:5-6 – Stepping back into my faith in God was the best thing that I have ever done for myself. Giving Him my heart and my trust opened doors for me that I never even knew existed. This scripture means a lot to me because ever since I allowed God to be my guide, trusting in Him and His path for me, made all the difference. Believing in Him and what He is and what He says and having full confidence in Him allows me to live freely, trust more, and love more. My life is now mostly faith-filled and it has forever changed me as a person. He is so good to us!
