To My Mom

May 14, 2023— 12:00 am

As we celebrate Mother’s Day today, I think about how lucky I am to have my mom and what a beautiful soul she has.

My mom Nancy was born in Massachusetts and grew up alongside her two sisters and one brother. Growing up, my mom and her family moved all over the United States due to her dad’s job. But she ended up living and staying in Northern California which is where we live today.

My mom is the strongest woman that I’ve ever met. She picks me up when I am down, she’s always been so selfless, and she’s always been in my corner. She does so much for our family and it never goes unnoticed. She comforts me when I’m upset, she listens to me whenever I need to talk, and she’s fixed a broken heart that she didn’t even break in the first place. She’ll make sure that I’m okay before anything or anyone else. She can be emotional, yes, but the amount of times she’s stayed strong for our family is incredible. That woman truly is unstoppable. My mom is so strong.

She is clothed with strength and dignity;

She can laugh at the days to come.

(Proverbs 31:25)

Growing up I can admit that I was not an easy child to raise. As every daughter has done, I have argued with my mom countless times, but I’ve never admitted to feeling bad about it until now.  (I know my mom will love reading that sentence.) Every single time we’d argue I’d feel bad, and I still do to this day because she’s never deserved it. She is one hell of a woman for putting up with it.

As I’ve gotten older, I’ve noticed how much my mom and I are alike. I am always told how much I look like my mom. Whether it’s my dimples when I smile, my mannerisms, or even the tone of my voice. It’s special being told I’m like my mom because she is one special lady.

🗨  Text from Mom- I am always here for you, to love you and guide you and remind you just how special you are. Don’t ever change your beautiful heart honey. I love you very much.

I hope that one day I can be just like my mom.

How loving she is.

How comforting she is.

How selfless she is.

How down-to-earth she is.

How beautiful she is, inside and out.

She is truly an angel and I don’t know who or where I’d be without her.

HAPPY MOTHER’S DAY MOMMY, I love you.
