Childlike

Recently, I came across some photos of me as a little girl. Some may not believe it, but yes, I was blonde. I smiled when I saw these photos. Reminiscing on how easy life was back then, what little worries I must’ve had, and how my only worry must’ve been when I was going to play with my toys next.
Like I’ve said in a past blog post, I was raised Catholic. I somewhat remember going to church as a little girl, but I am more familiar with getting back into my faith only a few months ago, after spending time away from it. I saw a caption on someone’s Instagram post the other day that said, “Childlike faith is powerful”. In my opinion, childlike faith can be portrayed through anyone of any age, not just children.
Childlike faith is often described as a faith that does not doubt, question, or seek explanations; it just believes. As well as being wide-eyed and open-hearted, interested in what God tells us; being trusting and reliant, and accepting God's answers as-is.
While I was looking through the old photos of myself, I thought of how God truly sees me. He sees me as His child. He sees every single one of us as His children, with big grins spreading across our faces while we don’t have a care in the world but wondering why Mom or Dad is taking so many pictures of us. I am His daughter, we are His children, and we are so loved by our God. The way that our parents would celebrate each and every milestone of ours growing up is how God treats every milestone we grow through, especially ones where were growing and moving towards Him. He greets us and rejoices when we put our faith in Him and choose to walk with Him patiently while He takes us through our own individual journeys.
As I’ve started to dedicate a lot more of my time lately to my faith and my relationship with God, I have started to see His beauty and feel His presence more and more than I ever have before. A lot of the time I am writing many different prayers in my journal, talking to Him on my walks outside, or even just simply thinking of Him when I have a moment of silence by myself. But most importantly, I am always thanking Him for everything.
Come close to God, and God will come close to you.
(James 4:8)
All He wants is for you to put your faith in Him, and to grow a deeper and stronger relationship with Him. He wants you to be so childlike that you can’t help but want to spend every moment with Him. The faith God looks for is humble, teachable, and trusting—like a child.
Be so in love with the Lord that you want nothing more than to trust Him, love Him, and have faith in Him as he does for you.
