To My Dad
June 18, 2023 - 12:00 am
I am and always have been a true “Daddy’s Girl.” Growing up with three older brothers, I was the only girl in my dad’s life besides my mom. Me being the baby of the bunch and his only daughter, we’ve always had a special bond.
My dad Ned was born in Croatia. Quite the foreigner, I know. He grew up alongside his three sisters and one brother. He came to the United States at 14 years old where he went to high school in San Jose, CA, and finished up school in San Francisco– he was living with his uncle at the time, while his family stayed in Croatia.
Ever since I was born in 2000, my dad has worked in the railroad and rapid transit industry. Still to this day, he is still working hard to provide for our family. Not a day goes by when I am not thankful for my dad and everything he has done for me and my family. He is the most selfless, hardworking, and loving man ever.
“As a father has compassion on his children,
so the Lord has compassion on those who fear him.”
(Psalm 103:13)
You could ask anyone in our family, but I hold a strong spot in his heart. When I am hurting, he’s hurting, when I am happy, he’s happy, when I am excited about something, he’s excited about it too. My dad has done so much for me, given me a great house to grow up in, taught me many things when it comes to subjects in school, life lessons, you name it, and he has been there for me at my toughest times.
🗨 Text from Dad- Remember, you are my only daughter and I love you more than life itself. I love you very much honey and all I want for you is to be happy and successful in life. ♥
I hope that one day I can have all of the amazing qualities that my dad has.
His selflessness.
His determination.
His drive.
His success.
His kind heart.
HAPPY FATHERS DAY DADDY, I love you.
